Professional Ambulance (Pro EMS)

Why We Love Their Story
Pro EMS provides ambulatory and emergency medical care to the City of Cambridge, Massachusetts. In addition, Pro EMS runs Pro EMS Solutions, providing fully managed technology services to other Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and public safety agencies, and Pro EMS Center for MEDICS, the premier paramedic training program and simulation training lab for emergency medical services in the Northeast.

The mission of Pro EMS Chief Executive Bill Mergendahl is to raise the standard of EMS patient care in Massachusetts and across New England. To this end, the program has aimed to increase awareness about advances in EMS services and technology; promote the company's state-of-the-art EMS Simulation Lab - the only one of its kind in the Northeast; and encourage the implementation of EMS-related data collection and analysis.

How We Work Together
Pro EMS works with Savoir Media through its Total Media Plan^TM package. This multi-faceted program includes:

• Media Relations
• Media Training
• Content Strategy and Development
  • Develop and edit quarterly newsletters featuring original stories about EMS-related issues, such as new technologies and performance standards
  • Develop and edit a series of case studies, based on the training conducted in the Center for MEDICS Simulation Lab, which serve as educational tools for existing paramedics and prospective students
  • Create content for brochures and other marketing materials
• Social Media and Online Strategy
  • Assisted in the creation and expansion of two Pro EMS websites (www.centerformedics.com and www.proems.com)

What We Helped Achieve
Savoir Media has raised public and industry awareness of Pro EMS in the region, increased Pro EMS's visibility, and helped build the images of Pro EMS Center for MEDICS and Pro EMS Solutions as premiere service providers. This was achieved through the:

• Introduction of the quarterly newsletter "EMS Matters"
• Production of a series of training videos available online
• Development of a booth concept for the Massachusetts Municipal Association's Annual Meeting and Trade Show
• Multiple health segment features on WCVB-TV Channel 5, Boston's ABC affiliate
• Print stories about the Center for MEDICS Executive Director, as well as other Pro EMS achievements, have appeared in local papers including the Boston Business Journal, the Burlington Union, and the Cambridge TAB
